Dr. Francis K. Polong
Technology Transfer and Extension Services Directorate

Dr. Francis Polong is the Director, Technology Transfer and Extension Services. He holds a PhD in Climate Systems and Climate Change from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, Nanjing, China; a Masters in Environmental Health from Moi University; and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. He has also undertaken a number of specialized training courses in Kenya, China, the Netherlands, and Malaysia. Dr. Polong has undertaken extensive research in China, the Netherlands, and Kenya. He is currently participating in research activities of the International Research Laboratory for Environment and Climate Change (ILCEC) at Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology in China. His research interests include land-hydrology-ecosystem-climate interaction, land surface processes, watershed modeling, climate change, watershed hydrology, integrated watershed management, and Environmental Sustainability.
