The system tracks the following:

  • Inventory and location of electrical and electronic equipment in the institute
  • Monitor and evaluate scheduled inspection and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment
  • Inventory and location of segregated e-waste in the institute
  • Disposal of e-waste by licensed e-waste recycling firms / treatment facilities

The National week of awareness will focus on potential hazards arising from e-waste and strategies for re-use, resale, recover, recycle these waste stream. It will also unlock opportunities and capacities for disposal options of e-waste in our country. This will assist in catalyzing the efforts of spectra of stakeholders while adhering to the NEMA guidelines on the management of e-waste in Kenya.
